The Church Planter's Program

The main objective of this project is to train Church planters (Ordinary believers) in Uganda in a 5 module practical holistic development training program for 13 months to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Conduct adult and children’s cells/home groups, plant new churches in communities, bring about spiritual transformation and create a legacy of peace in communities and nations.

Vision:

The overall vision in this initiative is “ A LIVING CHURCH IN EVERY COMMUNITY, PLANTED BY ORDINARY BELIEVERS WHO ARE EQUIPPED WITH PRACTICAL SKILLS AND TOOLS”.

In the current program, ordinary, mature believers, native of a typical community/tribe, will be equipped with good knowledge of the Bible, trained on practical skills are envisaged for Church Planting and training to plant a living Church in every community in Africa.

Issues of Denomination:

The Current program and approach respects the denominational practice and culture of existing churches- it allows their ways of doing, but we encourage and teach each denomination not to wait for seminary graduates to go out to plant churches in rural community; rather look out for ordinary mature native believers, equip them with practical skills and commission them for the mission in rural communities and the fast growing urbanization in Africa. Key Issue:  The current program is not against Bible/ Theology colleges, but only seeks out alternative approach to meet the needs for church planters within short period and cost-effective manner.

The in-class training is offered in a seminar format of five days conducted every three months with the trainees implementing what they have learned between modules in their assigned area; unreached community in south western Uganda including refugee camps. The training program covers Evangelism, Discipleship, Children’s ministry, Prison Ministry, Leadership and Service modules. This program incorporates training modules to equip communities and congregations in literacy program, economic empowerment, and other social action (e.g. gender and health issues) in the process of church planting to produce a Living Church in Every Community.

During the training, church planters are equipped with tool kits (scripture and other relevant resource materials) to assist them in planting new churches. The local sending church reinforces the evangelism work through prayer support, supervision and assistance in transportation and stipend to the trainees. Each graduate, as God enables will establish a minimum of one church prior to graduation. The church planter is accountable to the sending church and will serve in the sending church after completing the training program.
